What is Hair Transplant?

Hair transplantation is the most effective and result oriented way of restoring hair since it gives permanent solution to baldness and is maintainence free in long term.

In this procedure the surgeon takes healthy hair grafts from one location (usually the back area of scalp ) and relocates them to bald area of the head .

Each hair graft harvested from the donor area is carefully transplanted by the surgeon on to the recipient area so as to match the patient’s previous hair growth pattern, so that the new hair will continue to grow in their natural course.

After successful hair transplantation , bald area of the scalp gets converted into a fully regrown hair zone that changes the individual’s personality forever.

Transplanted hair can be treated just like normal hair, which means you can cut, colour and style them the way you like.

Technique

The technique performed at SERAPHIC – Follicular Unit Extraction hair transplantation (FUE) is the most advanced version of hair transplant.

The surgery is performed under the effect of local anaesthesia. The scalp of the patient is made numb, so that he/she will not feel any kind of pain.

It this processhair grafts (groups of one to four hair follicles) are extracted ONE BY ONE with a punch like method from the donor region and implanted into the bald area.

There are no incisions (cuts on scalp) involved, which means no stiches are required and consequently patient does not have to worry for any scars .As there are no stitches or sutures, there is minimal possibility of infections too.

BODY HAIR TRANSPLANT

Now, with FUE , it is possible to extract and transplant hair follicles from different body parts other than the head ( like beard, chest, pubic hairs etc) as well ; which helps to enhance the number of donor hairs in the patients who do have sufficient donor supply from the back of scalp.

FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT

Interestingly women may think that hair transplant is indicated only for men , but the fact is that hair transplant is not a gender specific procedure and can be done for men as well as women.

For women too the process of hair transplant is essentially the same as in men – follicular units are extracted from the donor area and these grafts are meticulously implanted into the area of concern.
